Solid travertine coffee table – 1970s

Coffee table in solid travertine, European production from the late 1970s.

The tabletop and base are made from two independent blocks, highlighting the sculptural character and quality of the stone.

Travertine has a natural texture, with its roughness and nuances specific to this material, visible in particular on the underside left raw, testifying to careful artisanal manufacturing.

The table bears original markings and a workshop label, used at the time for manufacturing and assembly tracking.

The low and balanced proportions, as well as the significant weight of the whole, make it a strong piece, both understated and expressive, which fits equally well in a contemporary interior as in a more eclectic decor.
