Vintage storage-bench coat rack with mirror – Honu fabric by Casal

Some pieces of furniture have instant charm, and this is one of them. This vintage entryway coat rack combines beautiful warm wooden slats, a black metal frame and a graphic fabric that doesn't go unnoticed.

It is also very practical. It has 5 original gold-coloured hooks for coats, a hat rack at the top and a large mirror for a last look before heading out. Below, a bench with a backrest lets you sit down to put on your shoes, and its storage chest hides everything else: shoes, scarves, bags…

What I redid

I restored its comfort with new Bultex foam, then upholstered it in a high-end Honu by Casal fabric. It is a graphic pattern in warm tones, terracotta, black and ecru, with a lovely bouclé texture. The wood and frame are in superb condition for their age, with a few slight signs of time that add to its charm.

Easy to set up

It simply stands against the wall, with no fixings at all. It is very stable, and you can move it whenever you feel like changing the decor. It's also perfect if you're a tenant.

I picture it in an entryway, but it would look just as good in a bedroom or in a shop. It is a unique, elegant and timeless piece.
